Bali National Park

I couldn't believe how dirty and polluted the water was. Speaking to a few locals they said the rubbish is washed down from the hills of Bali in the monsoon and then the ocean current runs west along the north coast of bali and deposts all the rubbish in this marine park. Though the locals aren't any better as all the rubbish that the tourists had was just bagged up and put up above the high tide mark. I asked what then happens to this rubbish and they said that every so often someone comes along and sets fire to it all. I took my rubbish back to the mainland with me. Even though it was incredibly dirty I decided to snorkel as it wasn't the fault of the fish or the reef that there was rubbish everywhere. And I'm glad I did as the coral and fish were better than anywhere else that I'd been in Bali and some of the best in the world that I've dived or snorkelled at.[endtext]
